It’s a simple phrase that speaks volumes about Stalwood Homes’ dedication to being the best homebuilder in the Greater Toronto Area. It might seem as if the company is leaning on some tired old cliché when it says, “Building Excellence.” However a quick look at the Cobourg, Ontario, homebuilder’s current success and it becomes apparent the phrase rings true.
Stalwood is one company that will not compromise its quality. This commitment to “Building Excellence” has established Stalwood as a preferred homebuilder, located about an hour northwest of Greater Toronto. Stalwood Homes was established nearly 20 years ago and since then has given customers in the Northumberland region a reason to smile with its custom-built homes and innovative new home developments.
According to the company website, founder and President Al Rose has been committed to building excellence from the very beginning. The company knows when one of its previously-built homes comes onto the resale market realtors will tell consumers “It’s a Stalwood.” This mere phrase gives homebuyers the assurance of quality and durability.
“That’s a mark of excellence for us and a lasting endorsement for the results we achieve. Building quality homes is what we do best, and doing so without compromise is what makes a Stalwood Home the premier offering among Northumberland new home choices,” it says on the company’s corporate website.
The company is quick to point out that attention to detail and quality is not all that sets it apart in the industry. It also builds its homes to last and it is immediately responsive to its clients’ desires. What makes the company unique is that while building for the future it honors its architectural past. The Stalwood Homes culture means the company stands behind every home it builds.
Projects
Two new major developments currently going at Stalwood are Stalwood at New Amherst and Orchard Gate in Brighton. Stalwood Homes’ corporate website says the New Amherst development is a cutting edge, urban community. It was created on the principle homes should have a close and friendly relationship to the street. It includes garages which were built in the rear and can be accessed by a road leading to the back.
“Many Stalwood new homes choices at New Amherst include large front porches that invite conversation and communion with casual passers-by. The master plan for the community, which is designed to encourage pedestrian traffic, also boasts numerous parks, a commercial district featuring shops and office space, and a central clock tower in the village square.,” it says on the site regarding New Amherst.
The development is in close proximity to the lake and to the Northumberland Mall. Equally impressive about the New Amherst project is the newest aspect of it, the Urban Quarters. These townhouses have a façade which resemble those found in the French Quarter in New Orleans. Stalwood says these Urban Quarters feature the comforts of home, a free flowing open concept kitchen, a living area and the option of two bedrooms, or one with a den.
Orchard Gates is the other new, exciting project which Stalwood has developed. What is especially stirring about this project, is that it provides its residents a number of opportunities for recreation. For example, Presqu’ile Provincial Park is within minutes of the development. The development includes a conservation area, has numerous biking and walking trails, offers Nordic skiing during the winter and much more.
The Orchard Gates homes’ bungalow designs “incorporate loft plans complete with lounge, and an additional washroom. They also showcase cozy gas fireplaces, gourmet kitchens, extensive ceramic tile, and hardwood floors.”
Energy Star
On top of its many exciting projects and commitment to quality, Stalwood Homes dedicates itself to green initiatives. Part of this dedication is the fact it is a certified Energy Star® New Home Builder. This means those who purchase a Stalwood EnergyGreen Home can accumulate thirty to forty percent in energy savings.
The Stalwood EnergyGreen Home comes with new, innovative energy, green-friendly features. The company site notes this includes extra insulation in the walls and ceilings, a full blanket wrap insulation around the basement perimeter to prevent heat transfer into the ground, an upgraded mechanical system and heating from a two-stage 93 percent efficient multi-speed gas furnace. These are just some of the many features which come with the EnergyGreen home.
