Soccer fans will be flocking to South Africa in their droves next summer, so in anticipation Exec Digital has found the best hotels and the ultimate package deals for an unforgettable World Cup
By Ellie Duncan
Next year’s World Cup in South Africa promises to be not simply a historic display of sporting prowess, but a chance for football fans to explore the country’s culture, cuisine and wildlife. Some supporters are going to watch their team fight it out in the tournament but, for many, it’s an excuse for a holiday with family, friends or colleagues. Whether it’s an indulgent stay in one of Cape Town’s finest hotels, or an adventure-packed trip, Exec Digital has found some of the most sought-after destinations and experiences for the discerning executive.
HOW TO BUY TICKETS
With football fans internationally competing for tickets, this is a case of first come, first served. There are two types of tickets on sale – individual match tickets and team specific tickets (TST). It is also worth noting that there are five sales phases if you want to get hold of a ticket and are waiting to find out if your team qualifies.
They are currently in the second sales phase, which ends on November 16, 2009. However, the third sales phase should commence once the draw has taken place, so make a note in your diary as this phase begins December 5, 2009 and closes January 22, 2010.
Thereafter, there are two further sales phases, including the period February 9 to April 7, 2010, and the ‘last minute’ phase from April 15 until July 11.
